Ridott Corners Tavern

For quite a few years my friend Jeff has been recommending the burgers at Ridott Corners Tavern, located south of Ridott, IL on the northwest corner of US-20 and Rock City Rd. This past summer I had a free weekday so I decided to finally check it out.

It's a typical rural tavern inside, with a long, L-shaped bar and a few tables. While I didn't get a good photo, the burgers are griddled on a flattop located at the end of the short side of the bar.

The menu lists a number of different burgers, and I decided on one topped with mushrooms and Swiss cheese - one of my favorites. Ridott Corners serves thick "pub style" burgers on toasted, quality buns.

I requested mine medium-rare and was not disappointed. It was juicy and had good beef flavor, although I would've liked just a little more salt. I can see why Jeff speaks highly of Ridott Corners, and I'd certainly visit again.
