Farewell (for now?), Red's Pizza

Last week I read an online article about the partial and eventually complete closing of Red's Pizza and Catering in Oshkosh, WI because of staffing issues (sounds familiar these days, doesn't it). The last day for pizza will be this coming Sunday (9/26) and the catering operation is booked into December, and apparently after that the lights go off if a new owner isn't found. I'd been aware of Red's for a few years and finally ate there for the first (and last?) time in January, 2020. The pizza and fried chicken were both very good, and I hope the owner finds someone to keep the business going.
Red's classic neon. I don't know if it dates back to the 1957 opening but it's definitely not recent!

Lots of places put the shaker cheese and pepper flakes on the table, but oregano isn't nearly as common.

1/4 pepperoni & fresh mushrooms, 1/4 pepperoni & canned mushrooms, 1/4 sausage & fresh mushrooms, 1/4 sausage & canned mushrooms. Normally I also add black olives but I don't see any here, so maybe I skipped them.

The crust was nice and crisp.

Red's also has (had?) broasted chicken and IIRC I convinced the server to sell me a single thigh. It was crisp and nicely seasoned.

Hopefully Red's will pass into new, enthusiastic hands determined to keep the doors open and the lights on for many years to come!
